Backspin

What is the best way to get backspin? My guess would be that it from decreasing the angle of the club face to almost zero, while increasing the power. Almost like a whipping action...

Thanks

Thanks, so if a shot is a low, line drive VS. a shot with altitude, it has less spin? Also, would it help with the spin if the ball is more forward in my stance closer to my front foot?

Well kinda...

Not a low line drive but not a sky ball either.... a nice piercing trajectory.... It really depends on how clean you hit the ball.... If you hit it clean but the angle is to great you get the sky ball like I hit... which is good if you hit it the right distance cuz the ball just lands and stops.... Most pro's prefer the medium trajectory shot that cuts the wind and spins back 5 or 10 feet....

about ball position.... just off your right heel lefty... little more towards middle for good spin and low trajectory...

My 2 cents

I have always felt that the best way to attain a good zipp-line spin on a ball was to pinch the ball with the club face. Meaning you must have a divot that starts from the front edge of the ball continuing for a couple of inches. Having fresh grooves on your club helps greatly. My boys wicked smahrt.

Very good point about

the divot...you need that thing to start after the ball.... very nice point

Backspin is from

a combination of.... clean contact+club speed+a good ball(a soft ball like prov-1)+the proper angle of attack....and the proper ball position (just forward of center for most shots).... Keep in mind that all your shots obviously have backspin or the ball wouldn't get of the ground.... and you only want extra backspin if you hit it past the flag.....
