Re: Does anyone know how hard you should grip the club...?

In regards to this important question, I would have to say that most people are gripping the club harder than they should. I can't help but think of a great Sam Snead quote: "If a lot of people gripped a knife and fork the way they do a golf club, they'd starve to death"

I like the quote but....

In my opinion I think you need to grip the club pretty hard... or have very strong hands.. If you are holding the club too lightly it will twist as it hits the ball.. I think developing strong hands and fingers is paramount to a good grip...

right instead of left, I know this sounds crazy, but aiming to the left only makes a slice worse.... just aim a little bit left and then visualize hitting the ball from the inside out.... picture a baseball diamond.... aim just to the right of second base and try to hit it to left field.... also your grip is probobly all fd up.... look at this picture and try to use a stronger grip...

Does anyone know how hard you should grip the club...?

I think the jury is out on this one. Most of the common advice says to grip the club lightly.... I say bull ****! The club head is moving at 100+mph and hitting solid ground.. what does anyone think...?
